About Stephanie

Stephanie R. Frey is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) & Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Rice Village, Houston, TX.

DSC_1998Stephanie is a therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples reach their highest potential. She is passionate about guiding them through difficult times, providing educated encouragement and wisdom when needed. Stephanie is skilled at identifying barriers that prevent people from living a full life and instills hope by giving them strategies to overcome those obstacles.

Sometimes, a person’s thinking, behavior, or relationships can cause these issues. Stephanie has worked with many clients in her 15+ years of practice and has seen many situations. She can offer advice based on her experience and help normalize these situations. Stephanie sees a spectrum of clients, including young adults, newly married couples, people with basic needs, government officials, and professional athletes. She has been featured as a therapist on the TLC show “My 600-lb Life.”

Stephanie has a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She is a state-approved supervisor for licensed professional counselors (LPC) and licensed marriage and family therapy (LMFT) counseling interns. Additionally, she is a certified Anger Resolution Therapist trained in basic Eye Movement Sensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is a Trained Facilitator and Seminar Director of PREPARE/ENRICH, a premarital and marriage assessment. Stephanie is licensed in both Texas and Virginia.

Stephanie’s graduate work focused on integrating clinical psychology and spiritual theology. She can integrate theological principles into counseling if clients desire. Stephanie received her practicum training at an Intensive Outpatient Center in Louisiana. She was a Crisis Pregnancy Help Center counselor and counseled individuals and couples at The Houston Center for Christian Counseling. She served as the Director of Counseling at the Sugar Land Vineyard Church before starting her private practice in Rice Village, West University, Houston, Texas.

Stephanie has been married to Jeff since 1997, and they have two young boys. Jeff and Stephanie are involved in health organizations and events in and around Houston. They speak regularly at workshops and retreats on wellbeing and volunteer their time to work with the leaders of businesses and organizations on their overall health.
